thanks for reading and posting on my blong again. really appreciate it. and glad you enjoyed kyoto; we went last christmas and loved it. got to see most everything but the palace (closed) and the golden temple (had opted for palace). the silver temple had amazing zen gravel work as well, including a huge perfectly conical pile. i will try to dredge up a picture and send it along

Hello, Dan. We saw the cone. It was a little bit neo-brutalist for my taste, but you could admire the dedication to perfection in its construction. The gardens there were beautiful too, but I prefer them deserted...
